Diagnostic boundary
A diagnostic trouble code reports that a monitored test failed. It does not prove one specific part is bad, and manufacturer logic can add vehicle-specific conditions.
Do not replace sensors one by one before checking for air leaks and correlation data; this code is about disagreement between inputs.
Useful checks before replacing parts
- Compare throttle angle, MAP, MAF, calculated load, RPM, and fuel trims under the same conditions that set the code.
- Inspect intake leaks, charge-pipe leaks, throttle-body contamination, sensor wiring, sensor grounds, and air-filter sealing.
- Check whether recent intake, throttle, or tune changes altered airflow behavior outside the expected model.
