Diagnostic boundary
A diagnostic trouble code reports that a monitored test failed. It does not prove one specific part is bad, and manufacturer logic can add vehicle-specific conditions.
Do not assume range/performance means total sensor failure; intermittent wiring, contamination, or adaptation problems can set the code.
Useful checks before replacing parts
- Graph throttle or pedal sensor A against the redundant sensor while moving the pedal and throttle smoothly.
- Check for dead spots, noisy signal, slow response, connector movement, and reference-voltage stability.
- Inspect throttle plate condition and perform the correct relearn only after electrical and mechanical checks are complete.
