Diagnostic boundary
A diagnostic trouble code reports that a monitored test failed. It does not prove one specific part is bad, and manufacturer logic can add vehicle-specific conditions.
Do not replace the transmission for a stuck-on solenoid code before checking fluid contamination and solenoid/valve-body operation.
Useful checks before replacing parts
- Monitor solenoid B command, actual gear, calculated ratio, input and output speeds, and pressure data during the affected shift.
- Check for valve-body sticking, debris, contaminated fluid, solenoid mechanical sticking, or wiring shorts.
- Use companion ratio or shift codes to narrow which hydraulic path is affected.
