A diagnostic trouble code reports that a monitored test failed. It does not prove one specific part is bad, and manufacturer logic can add vehicle-specific conditions.
Do not assume the solenoid coil is electrically open; performance faults can be hydraulic, mechanical, or fluid related.

- Compare solenoid C command with actual ratio, shift timing, turbine speed, output speed, and pressure-control data.
- Inspect fluid contamination, valve-body sticking, solenoid response, wiring, and connector condition.
- Review temperature and load conditions because performance faults may appear only hot or during one shift.
