A diagnostic trouble code reports that a monitored test failed. It does not prove one specific part is bad, and manufacturer logic can add vehicle-specific conditions.
Do not assume the transmission needs overhaul until pressure, solenoid, fluid, and speed-sensor data are reviewed.
Useful checks before replacing parts
- Review commanded shift, actual gear change, input/output speed traces, pressure data, and adaptive shift values.
- Check fluid level and condition, pressure-control response, solenoid operation, valve-body wear, and clutch apply behavior.
- Determine whether the delayed shift occurs hot, cold, under load, or during one specific gear change.
