Diagnostic boundary
A diagnostic trouble code reports that a monitored test failed. It does not prove one specific part is bad, and manufacturer logic can add vehicle-specific conditions.
Do not assume an electrical coil failure from a performance code; hydraulic response and fluid condition also matter.
Useful checks before replacing parts
- Compare commanded pressure, pressure control solenoid B duty cycle, actual or inferred pressure, shift timing, and slip data.
- Inspect fluid condition, connector fit, internal harness, valve-body sticking, and solenoid response.
- Check whether the fault appears only hot, cold, under high load, or during specific shifts.
