Diagnostic boundary
A diagnostic trouble code reports that a monitored test failed. It does not prove one specific part is bad, and manufacturer logic can add vehicle-specific conditions.
Do not ignore a pump circuit stuck high; unintended pump operation can create safety and drivability issues.
Useful checks before replacing parts
- Check relay contacts, short-to-voltage, fuel pump control module output, and wiring between relay/module and pump.
- Compare commanded pump state with actual voltage and fuel pressure when the pump should be off and on.
- Inspect aftermarket wiring, alarm or immobilizer installs, and repaired harness sections.
