Diagnostic boundary
A diagnostic trouble code reports that a monitored test failed. It does not prove one specific part is bad, and manufacturer logic can add vehicle-specific conditions.
Do not replace the torque converter for an electrical code until the TCC solenoid circuit and harness have been tested.
Useful checks before replacing parts
- Check TCC solenoid power, control wire, ground path, connector pins, internal harness, and transmission case connector condition.
- Compare TCC command with circuit response and look for open, shorted, or intermittent electrical behavior.
- Inspect fluid intrusion, heat damage, and shared power feeds if other solenoid electrical codes are present.
