Do not assume a failed solenoid coil from a performance code; hydraulic response and fluid condition must be checked.
Useful checks before replacing parts
- Compare solenoid D command with actual gear ratio, shift timing, turbine speed, output speed, and pressure-control data.
- Inspect fluid contamination, valve-body sticking, solenoid response, connector condition, and internal harness faults.
- Review whether the condition is temperature-dependent or tied to one shift event.
