A diagnostic trouble code reports that a monitored test failed. It does not prove one specific part is bad, and manufacturer logic can add vehicle-specific conditions.
Do not replace the transmission from P0770 alone; enhanced data and circuit checks are needed first.
Useful checks before replacing parts
- Review solenoid E command, commanded gear, actual gear, input speed, output speed, and related ratio or shift codes.
- Check fluid level and condition, solenoid E wiring, internal harness, case connector, and connector sealing.
- Determine whether the code is an electrical fault at key-on or a performance fault during a shift event.
